Gameplay in Garden Warfare is divided into several distinct game modes. These game modes have specific challenges and requirements specific to each.

Modes[edit | edit source]

Welcome Mat[edit | edit source]

A beginning game mode that lets you get more health on your next re-spawn the worst you do in the match.

Garden Ops[edit | edit source]

Garden Ops is the flagship cooperative mode for Garden Warfare where up to 4 people take control of each of the plants defending a garden. There are 10 waves with bosses every 5 waves, it is fundamentally the main game type of the mobile games brought to the console.

Gardens & Graveyards[edit | edit source]

Gardens & Graveyards is the King of the Hill variant for Garden Warfare, where the Plants defend their gardens from the insurgent Zombies.

Team Vanquish[edit | edit source]

The classic Team Death Match mode with a twist - revivals take a point away from the enemy team.

Gnome Bomb[edit | edit source]

A unique combat version of hot potato, put in a rough mockup of reverse capture the flag.

Mixed[edit | edit source]

It will be one of the two modes with either zombies or plants. Then the next mode played right after will be the same mode along with the same map. However, the player will be using the opposite character team from before. Using the opposite character team does not happen all the time. After two matches of the same mode are complete, the other mode mentioned will do the same action as described.

Taco Bandit Crazy[edit | edit source]

Taco Bandits Crazy Dave has set up his taco stand in Zombie territory. Naturally, Dr. Zomboss is trying to each lunch and skip out on the bill. As a Zombie, it’s your job to push through reinforced Plant defenses, grab the taco, and make it back to Dr. Zomboss’ spaceship in one piece. If the Zombies can manage this feat three times in a round, it’s game over for the Plants. Who says capture the flag has to be boring?

Gnome Bomb[edit | edit source]

Gnome Bomb is a bomb-based game mode. The two teams must work to secure a neutrally placed and controlled garden gnome with a bomb strapped to his back. Once captured, the bomb needs to be placed in the enemy base.

Playstation Only[edit | edit source]

These are game modes that currently only appear on Playstation.

Suburbination[edit | edit source]

The Plant and Zombie teams are locked in an epic tug-of-war as they fight for tactical control over three hotly contested gardens. In this take on the classic domination-style game mode, it’s Suburbinate or be Suburbinated!
